Ninety-nine years ago when the civil war led to the secession of the district of Wonto, from the The Holy Amaran Empire, and a demarcation line was drawn, barely anyone considered what was to be done with the Dastan; a tiny strip of land in the east surround by black ocean on one side and the wicked peaks of the Devdant Range on other. The border line ended up cutting through the only Imperial Road in the area, stranding a majority of Amaran Dastan behind a week-long trek through treacherous mountain terrain. Today, the area is home to a few thousand inhabitants who keep alive a pantomime of the glorious past, simply waiting for the week that the merchant caravan does not arrive.
